This past week in class brings our two minute, prepare-at-home weekly presentations to an end. In Term 2, we will introduce a different type of public speaking program. Next term, students will be delivering impromptu, one minute presentations on prescribed topics. Some examples of these topics would be "What makes me happy...", "I can't stand..." and "Sandwiches". Students will be given a unique envelope with 28 different topics in it. Each week, students will take a lucky dip into their envelope and grab a topic. Students will then talk about anything at all relevant to their topic for a set period of one minute. This will encourage fast thinking and will develop the skills needed to elaborate on a focus. We look forward to our new presentation program starting up next term.
A note from Miss Taylor..
Our class blog will be added to at the end of every week. Take a few minutes to check out the entries with your child and discuss what they, along with their classmates, have been learning in class over the previous week. I hope you enjoy this special account of your child's time in 2M. Positive and encouraging comments are warmly welcome! Archives
