Today we started our next unit of work - Time. Elliot, Bailey and Lance were asked to use plastic clocks to see what they could discover about time in their team. At the end of this activity, the class came together to share what they had found out in their teams. Children made all sorts discoveries such as the minute hand moves much faster around the clock face because it's distance to make an hour is a lot more than the distance the hour hand has to travel to make an hour. Children discovered that the clock hands can never run anti-clockwise (and that if they could, that would mean we would travel back in time!) and that the minutes around the practise clocks are measured in intervals of 5, so it's like counting by 5's up to 60.
A note from Miss Taylor..
Our class blog will be added to at the end of every week. Take a few minutes to check out the entries with your child and discuss what they, along with their classmates, have been learning in class over the previous week. I hope you enjoy this special account of your child's time in 2M. Positive and encouraging comments are warmly welcome! Archives
