Harmony Day is celebrated around the world on March 21st each year. This week at Broulee Public school, we are celebrating this very special day. Harmony Day celebrates Australia's cultural diversity. It's about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Here in 2M, we are learning a Harmony Day song to perform at assembly, we are listening to music from around the world and we are making Harmony Day balloons to decorate our classroom. We will be discussing harmony and writing about it on Monday morning and, through out the week we will be playing games to promote a sense of respect for others and an inclusiveness attitude. We are always talking about how we can play at school out in the yard in a way that embodies harmony with everyone. We will be dressing up in clothes from around the world for our Harmony Day assembly, please send your child with any clothing item from another country on Thursday (they can change in the classroom). I will be bringing in a bag of foreign children's clothing I have collected over the years for any student who may not have something at home. Thank you, parents & carers.
A note from Miss Taylor..
Our class blog will be added to at the end of every week. Take a few minutes to check out the entries with your child and discuss what they, along with their classmates, have been learning in class over the previous week. I hope you enjoy this special account of your child's time in 2M. Positive and encouraging comments are warmly welcome! Archives
