Over the past few weeks we have been reading journal entries from the book "Sophie Scott Goes South" by Alison Lester. We are immensely lucky to have Isla in our class whose father works on the Aurora Australis as a chef. We have been thoroughly enthralled by the accounts of the main character, Sophie, as she travels to Antarctica with her dad. Throughout the story we have had the benefit of Isla being able to add information and stories told to her by her father. Next month, Isla's dad is coming in to our class to give us a talk on what it is like living, working in Antarctica. We are so fortunate to be getting the opportunity to learn first hand what it is like in this extremely special part of our world. Thank you Isla for sharing your book with us.
A note from Miss Taylor..
Our class blog will be added to at the end of every week. Take a few minutes to check out the entries with your child and discuss what they, along with their classmates, have been learning in class over the previous week. I hope you enjoy this special account of your child's time in 2M. Positive and encouraging comments are warmly welcome! Archives
